[solved] Persona 5 Okumura bossfight

Most of the time, I tend to focus on technical issues here. But since I’m currently playing Persona 5 and had some problems with the Okumura battle at the beginning, and also saw numerous posts online complaining about this battle, I wanted to briefly share my solution. My level was slightly above 40.

In battle, you are faced with increasingly stronger opponents, which you must quickly defeat in waves 1 to 5, otherwise they will be replaced by fresh opponents. And the time pressure doesn’t exactly make the whole struggle any more pleasant.

Waves 1 to 5:

In the first 5 waves, the robots each have two weaknesses that must be exploited.

1: Fire & Wind
2: Ice & Psychic
3: Electric & Nuclear
4: Wind & Bless
5: Psychic & Curse

To exploit weaknesses properly, you now need to use the baton pass. If you can’t attack the weakness with a spell, use items that deal the respective damage.

For me, it worked best to start the baton pass with a character that only deals weakness damage to one opponent. Then baton pass to a character that deals weakness damage to the next opponent.

With the third baton pass, you can take a character that deals weakness damage to all opponents.

With the fourth baton pass, you want to end up with a character that deals a lot of weakness damage against all opponents. With the damage bonuses increasing with each baton pass, you should then be able to deal enough damage to defeat your opponents within the time limit.

Since you still have your normal moves thanks to the baton pass, you can use them to strengthen your attacks (for example, with items and spells) or to take care of healing or defense.

The baton pass procedure in brief:
1: Attack an opponent’s weakness (item/spell)
2: Baton pass
3: Attack an opponent’s weakness (item/spell)
4: Baton pass
5: Attack all opponents’ weaknesses (spell)
6: Baton pass
7: Attack all opponents’ weaknesses (spell)

Wave 6:

Wave 6 is then a single large robot, which, however, has no weaknesses. In addition, it can perform a Big Bang Order attack, which causes a lot of damage to everyone.

Use electrical attacks (items/spells) to put him into a shocked state.

When he is in a shocked state, you can inflict technical damage on him. To do this, you can use weapons or all physical skills.

If the Big Bang Order attack occurs, focus on defense and ensure that everyone has enough health to survive the attack.

Wave 7:

Wave 7 is then the Haru robot.

Heal yourself and use items and skills to increase your defense. Then just wait for it to receive the self-destruct command.

Once you’ve defeated everyone, you finally get to fight Okumura. You can easily knock him down with any attack. And that’s it, you’ve done it.
