[solved] Persona 5 stuttering and framedrops on PC

After playing Persona 5 without any problems for a while, I started having issues on my PC. The game would freeze briefly every now and then, with a tendency to get worse and worse over time until it was basically unplayable. Simply because it completely ruins the game.

At first, I suspected problems with the drive or RAM, but everything was fine.

In the depths of Reddit, I finally found the saving tip. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work permanently, but only for the duration of the gaming session, so you have to repeat the fix every time the problem occurs again. Apparently, it has something to do with Persona 5 having problems with multithreading. Or something like that.

While the game is running, use the Windows key, for example, to return to the desktop.

Open Task Manager and search for PSR.exe in the processes.

You may need to switch to the detailed view for the next step. Right-click on the Persona 5 exe to adjust the affinity.

For me, it was usually enough to disable one core and then go back into the game. After that, everything should run smoothly again.

Theoretically, you can also switch back from the game to the Task Manager to reactivate the core after this procedure.

I hope this has helped you. If you have any updates or additions to this, please let me know.
