[solved] referenced memory at 0x00000 could not be written win11

I occasionally use wired XBox controllers for gaming.

The problem mentioned above has been with me for a while. When shutting down after using the controller, the stated error message appears. In various solution approaches, a cumulative update preview from Windows was mentioned as a possible cause – specifically probably KB5034204.

There were some success stories when users uninstalled the update. This did not work for me. However, the following approach helped me.

Windows search -> services.msc

select “GameInput Service” (Host service for GameInput) from list, deactivate and if active: stop it

reboot

I hope this has helped you. If you have any updates or additions to the problem, please let me know.
